Welcome to Margo's

Margo's gift shop was founded in 1936 by Margret "Margo" Kimberger, Margo's gift shop is now operated by her granddaughter , Margo Nelson. The gift boutique was originally located inside the Philcade building in downtown Tulsa. At the request of Walt Helmerich, Kimberger moved the shop to Utica Square in 1964 and it has remained there since.
Through the store's dedicated to customers and its inventory of unique home and seasonal decor, as well as stationery products, Margo's has served generations of Tulsans.
"It's a lot of work, but it is an honor to be able to carry on a tradition," Margo Nelson says. "I think that's what's most important, keeping the tradition going." Margo's is synonymous with home and seasonal gifts, including its immense collection of Christopher Radko glass ornaments. The store has been a Christopher Radko retailer for 35 years and is one of the line's original customer, Nelson says.
Besides Christopher Radko ornaments, the store stocks one-of-a-kind holiday decorations - everything from Easter and Valentine's Day to Fourth of July and Christmas.
"We always try to find something exclusive that you can't find anywhere else," Nelson says.

Throughout the years, stationery has been considered the backbone of the store, Margo Nelson says. The store has always carried fine stationery lines such as Crane and William Arthur, and still has personalized dyes that loyal customers have used for more than 80 years.
Another facet of Margo's is its bridal registry, a service the store has always offered, Nelson says. Brides can register for pottery, linens, home decor and other fine gifts available through the store's wide inventory.
With 75 years past, Nelson look toward the store's bright future reflected in the eyes of the new customers they meet daily.
"People come in every day and say, 'We've never known you were her,'" Margo Nelson says. "It's always a treat to find a new customer,' and introduce them to their own Tulsa tradition that she believes rings true to her grandmother's vision.
"She would be thrilled," Margo says of her grandmother. "She would be so happy and proud of us I'm sure, as we are of her. We feel so fortunate to have been able to keep it going for 85 years and hope to keep it going longer."
